We are proud to announce that Centurion has achieved standard ISO 45001 certification, Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, after passing the accreditation audit in May.
At Centurion we strive for what’s right, not what’s easy. For over 140 years we have existed to give workers the confidence to think clearly and deliver their best, and that includes our own employees.
ISO 45001 is the world’s first international standard for occupational health and safety, providing a framework to increase safety, reduce workplace risks and enhance health and wellbeing at work, enabling businesses to take a proactive attitude to identifying and evaluating risks.
The standard was developed with consideration of other related standards, and is consistent with the ILO’s international labour standards and conventions. Developed with the input of experts from more than 70 countries, it provides a risk-based approach to ensure it is effective and undergoes continual improvement to meet businesses ever-changing requirements.
Nichola Melling, Sales and Marketing Director at Centurion: “Safety lies at the heart of Centurion’s heritage – protecting people has been the focus of our business for over 140 years and we continue to innovate to ensure we’re at the cutting edge of worker safety. We are committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of our employees, and achieving standard ISO 45001 demonstrates our commitment to doing the right thing as an employer.”
Sam Austin, Compliance Manager at Centurion: “From identifying hazards to conducting audits, being involved in risk assessments and wearing the correct PPE, it all plays a part in making our working environment a safe one. The Centurion brand stands for safety and our customers expect us to live and breathe this ethos.”
